Decidim is a technological platform for democratic participation. It is written in free and open source. The governance of its code is the responsibility of the Free Software Association Decidim, which is in charge of monitoring the democratic practices of the platform and the impetus of its Metadecidm community.

Decidim was born six years ago and there are already 400 instances worldwide in both pre-production and production, implemented in more than 20 countries, by local governments and very diverse institutions such as the governments of Mexico City, Helsinki, New York, Kakogawa (Japan), the European Commission and the National Assembly of France, to name but a few. Thanks to the effort of its community, it is translated into 53 languages. Decidim is a fundamental infrastructure for the deployment of citizen participation policies and as a tool for extending democracy in all kinds of organisations.
