The Triangle of Sadness

Open Air Cinema
El triángulo de la tristeza
-

After Fashion Week, Carl and Yaya, a couple of models and influencers, are invited to a yacht on a luxury cruise. While the crew provides all the necessary attentions to the rich guests, the captain refuses to leave his cabin, despite the imminent arrival of the famous gala dinner. Events take an unexpected turn and the balance of power is reversed when a storm arises that endangers the comfort of the passengers.

Ruben Östlund makes a sharp satire full of dark humor about the cult of money and the capitalist class system. What begins as a story to laugh uncomfortably at the eccentricities of the rich ends up drifting towards the revenge and redemption of the working classes. Winner of the Palme d'Or at Cannes 2022.
