The European video game community against fake news

..

"Truth, Lies & Democracy," the first game jam dedicated to combating misinformation, opens a call for teams to participate in its inaugural edition. The final event will take place from May 17 to 19 at the Canódromo, as a highlighted part of the European Capital of Democracy program.

Fake news and disinformation endanger our democracy, and to address this issue, the European video game community is called upon to take significant actions. The initiative aims to bring together young people aged 18 to 30 residing throughout the territory of the Spanish state with previous experience in the field of video games. Registrations will be open from February 1st to March 31st.

Teams will need to propose a project that will go through a selection phase. Three local teams and up to four European teams will be chosen to participate in the final event. They will have the opportunity to compete for various prizes during the event, enjoy personalized pre-incubation support from Ars Games, and a consulting session shared with GameBCN. Additionally, they can showcase their work at the prestigious IndieDevDay 2024 and will be featured in a publicly open ceremony on May 19.

A unique opportunity to gain recognition and turn their passion into a true professional career. The future of the video game industry is in their hands!
