Democracy Lab | September 17 to 19

This season at the Canòdrom, we are pleased to host the first edition of the Democracy Lab by Nets4Dem, an event that will bring together brilliant minds from local governments and democracy experts from across Europe. If you work in local public administration, you cannot miss this space for collaboration and creativity, where you will learn how democratic innovation can help empower citizens and transform local decision-making. As part of the European Capital of Democracy, this lab will cook up fresh ideas and innovative solutions for a more inclusive and participatory democracy.

Biennial of Thought at the Canòdrom | October 10 to 11

The Biennial of Thought will set up at the Canòdrom square with debates and conferences focused on the city’s challenges and the future of citizen participation. Organized by the European Capital of Democracy, the event is an invitation to explore critical thinking, the uses and abuses of memory and nostalgia, advocate for ways of living compatible with life on Earth, and project an open humanism embracing diversity, freedom, and care. Forum on Deliberation, Creativity, and Democracy | October 15 to 18

This October, the Canòdrom will host the Forum on Deliberation, Creativity, and Democracy as part of the European Capital of Democracy program. A space for deep reflection and creativity. From presentations by the School of Creativity and Democracy to the annual meeting of the Red_delb, this forum will be the meeting point for everyone interested in putting into practice the values of equality, freedom, and solidarity through deliberation and citizen participation.

Decidim Fest | October 23, 24, and 25

An explosion of thought and action will flood the Canòdrom this autumn! The Decidim Fest returns with renewed strength to explore the intersection of climate, technology, and democracy. Under the theme “Ecology, Technology, and Democracy. Another future is possible,” this gathering encourages us to think about how technology can be an ally in the fight against climate change and in building a fairer future. Organized by the Decidim Association, the Democratic Innovation Directorate of the Barcelona City Council, and the Canódromo, the event promises to be a celebration of participation, innovation, and the digital community.

Cròniques de la calor (Heath Chronicles) | November 14, 6 to 8 PM

Want to know what happens when neighbors become heat detectives? “Cròniques de la calor” (Heath Chronicles) is a citizen science project that explores how extreme heat affects the metropolitan neighborhoods of Barcelona. This meeting will be an opportunity to share the results of this research with the community and the Congrés-Indians neighborhood to reflect on how technology can help improve our quality of life. Driven by OpenSystems, a collaborative project at the Canòdrom, 12 entities, and more than 300 people, this project demonstrates the power of citizen participation in building local solutions.

Organized by Lichen Social Innovation, a collaborative project at the Canòdrom, this workshop will help you transform your ideas into concrete actions.
