All of us play (or have played) some video games. But what are they really? How can we define them?

Under this premise, the Catalan Institute of Leisure with its brand IndieDevDay and ArsGames have created this forum to give voice to different sensibilities and perspectives, as well as to discuss the origins of video games, debate their meaning, the changes they have undergone in recent decades, and explore the plurality and diversity of the concept and how this definition affects our society.

In addition, it has a clear influence on processes of community, civic and cultural participation. But there is a dark side to the sector: from how companies are dedicated to extracting and selling our data when we play, to dark design patterns designed to deceive users.
