El Canòdrom, Digital and Democratic Innovation Hub of Barcelona, invites you to participate in a special day of training, debate, and music to transform the digital and music ecosystem towards a more inclusive future. The midday session is aimed at women and gender-diverse people in the music industry. In the afternoon, conferences, debates, and concerts open to the public will close the event.
Did you know that not all AI is created by large corporations or relies on extractivist systems? In this session, we will learn about an inspiring project that advocates for autonomous, sovereign AI managed by the communities themselves. Using open and local models, without data centers or polluting infrastructure, this initiative provides an example of how to reclaim technology with responsibility and social justice.
Decidim is a citizen participation platform based on free, secure technology with full democratic guarantees. Its flexibility and impact make it unique, with implementations at both local and global scales, from the City Councils of Barcelona, Helsinki, and Mexico City to initiatives like SomEnergia, LaFede, or FAVB.

On Thursday, January 23, 2025, FemProcomuns is organizing the second hackathon of the BICxO project to explore the use of sensors in sustainable mobility and Internet of Things technologies in future scenarios looking 20 years ahead.
What can these technologies contribute to the ecosocial transition? What ethical risks must be avoided? What material and energy-related factors might hinder or facilitate their use? How can they help raise awareness and improve resource usage?
The research provides an initial analysis of the state of diversity in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) sector in Catalonia, aiming to identify areas where biases affecting equality and non-discrimination may arise.
The process of designing, developing, and implementing artificial intelligence (AI) is deeply influenced by discriminatory dynamics. The cross-sectoral application of these technologies compels us to address the complexity of the phenomenon from a critical and global perspective. Within this framework, the Global Digital Justice project, led by Oxfam Intermón and the Global Justice Directorate of the Barcelona City Council, focuses on the impacts of AI on inequalities.
The "Tecnología Solidaria" Meetups are regular open, inclusive, and free gatherings specially designed for third-sector organizations where we learn and share knowledge about technologies, platforms, and experiences related to the digital world. Data policies and democratic participation
The Barcelona Open Data Meeting is a space for debate and deliberation promoted by the Directorate for Participation and Democratic Innovation and the Municipal Data Office (OMD) at the Canòdrom, between Barcelona City Council, experts, organised civil society and the citizens of Barcelona, aimed at making municipal data policies more participative and open.
FemDevs is organizing a workshop day under the theme “Non-Competitive Programming,” aimed at various age groups and in collaboration with the international project Fairgame. This initiative aims to foster an inclusive learning space in programming.
